Accreditation in Point of Care Ultrasound is relevant as it sets a minimum standard among practitioners and formally validates individual expertise.

  • Classically, the RCEM has divided and accredited the core US skills by levels. However, RCEM has recently revised the Ultra Sound curriculum, and several changes took effect in 2022.

    The new curriculum is a step forward into a broader US skillset in EM and hopefully a more inclusive approach to POCUS in the UK. Here you can find some insight, documentation, and FAQs, to help you in the process of accreditation.

  • Focused Ultrasound in Intensive Care is a group training modules sponsored by the Intensive Care Society. There are specific requisites and prices (£) to start an accreditation pathway in different organs / anatomical regions.

    Particularly concerning heart and lung bedside assessment, FUSIC is the benchmark within the critical care community in the UK.
